Stephen Lee
A senior broadcast journalist with more than 20 years experience working in leading newsrooms in the UK and Australia as a producer, presenter and reporter.

Stephen is best known in the UK for his work at ITV, where he was part of the on-screen team at Anglia for more than ten years.

In 1998 he joined ITV and started work as a newsroom journalist at Anglia Television, joining the on-screen team after six months. After eight years producing and presenting the GMTV bulletins, in late 2006 he joined Clare Weller full-time as co-anchor of the half hour regional news programme Anglia Tonight at 6pm weekdays on ITV1. He also reported live on the national 24 hour ITV News Channel. Stephen is a skilled self editor and launched audio and video podcasting for ITV regional news. As a producer, he also was responsible for the scripting and live broadcast of ITV’s news output and was the final checkpoint before the news went to air.

Stephen was nominated as Journalist of the Year in the 2006 Creative East Awards. In February 2007, Stephen took part in a televised ice skating challenge, learning a routine from scratch in five weeks. His progress and final performance were shown in a series on Anglia Tonight.

Stephen has interviewed leading politicians such as Tony Blair and Charles Clarke, A-list celebrities such as Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, respected musicians such as Bob Geldof and Phil Collins, talented sportsmen such as such as Greg Rusedski and Kyran Bracken, and well-loved personalities such as Delia Smith and Russell Brand.

Acting as an ambassador for ITV at receptions and events, most notably Stephen was invited to Number 10 Downing Street in October 1997 for a reception attended by the Prime Minister.

In November 2008, Stephen left ITV Anglia to work at GMTV in London, ITV’s national breakfast programme, before emigrating to Australia in 2009.
